Black Sticks women into semis

New Zealand were on the board after nine minutes of the quarterfinal in Hastings on Thursday through Olivia Merry.

Sophie Cocks and Punt, from a penalty corner, added two more in quick succession for a 3-0 halftime margin.

The Black Sticks continued to dominate the contest and went further ahead through Sam Charlton, before Punt and Pippa Hayward bagged late goals.

Earlier, Australia secured their spot in the last four on Saturday by downing Ireland 3-0, with Georgie Parker getting a brace on either side of an Ashleigh Nelson goal.
