Blake to play NPC rugby for Bay of Plenty

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 14/07/2016

Scottish international flanker Hugh Blake will return home to play for Bay of Plenty in the NPC.

Tauranga-born Blake, 23, is a former New Zealand under-20 international who played four seasons for Otago before leaving for Edinburgh in 2014.

He represented the Scotland sevens team in 11 world series tournaments before playing his sole Test on the openside flank against Ireland in Dublin last year ahead of the World Cup.

Bay of Plenty confirmed it will also field New Zealand Olympic sevens players Teddy Stanaway and Regan Ware when they return from their Rio duties.

They open their NPC Championship division campaign against Taranaki in Tauranga on August 20.
