Bleach spill prompts airport incident

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 21/05/2016

Three people have been treated by paramedics after fumes from a leaky bleach bottle on board a plane landing at Wellington Airport filled the cabin.

Passengers reported a strong chlorine smell as the plane came into land at Wellington Airport on Saturday with on-site fire and paramedics attending the scene.

The plane was cleared and it was discovered that a bottle of bleach in an overhead locker had leaked.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson said three people were treated for minor conditions, but none required transportation to hospital.
