NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 9/05/2017

Cordons put up around central Wellington because of a bomb scare have been stood down, police say.

The cordons were put in place after an incident at Rutherford House on the Victoria University campus.

At the decision of the university, the building was emptied, and police said a search by specialist dogs had found no items of concern.

Police thanked motorists and pedestrians for their patience while the cordons were in place and said inquiries were continuing.
