Alexis Pritchard won't box at her second Olympic Games in Rio after being eliminated at the women's qualifying tournament in Kazakhstan.

The Auckland 32-year-old lost her 60kg fight on points to Yana Alekseevna of Azerbaijan, ending New Zealand's involvement at the tournament.

Deanne Carpener (75kg) and Sunita Lallu (48kg) had both lost in the first round while London Olympian Pritchard, who needed a top-five finish to qualify for Rio, had won her first two fights.

She lost 2-0 on Monday, with one judge splitting the boxers 38-38 while the two others scored 40-36 and 39-37 in favour of Alekseevna.

New Zealand's hopes of fielding a boxer at the August Games rest with Hamilton brothers David and Josh Nyika, who will compete at a men's qualifying tournament in Azerbaijan in June.
