Six days after claiming his maiden Ironman win in Western Australia in course record time, Bozzone dominated the field over the half-ironman distance in Manama.

The 31-year-old was unaffected by blustery conditions, emerging sixth from the 1.9km swim before easing clear into a headwind early on the 90km bike leg.

He was unchallenged in the half marathon run, finishing nearly a minute clear of German Steffen Justus in a time of three hours 41 minutes 32 seconds.

A former Ironman 70.3 world champion, Bozzone is switching his primary focus to the full distance this year.

A primary target is Ironman New Zealand in Taupo in March.
