Broods drop Aussie tour dates and album

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 19/04/2016

Kiwi brother and sister duo Broods have announced their first Australian headline tour in July.

Georgia and Caleb Nott have also just revealed plans to release their next album, Conscious, in June, featuring a track co-written with Lorde.

It's a follow on from their debut album, Evergreen, which the pair released in 2014 spawning the hit singles Bridges and Mother & Father.

For the next record, Broods have teamed up again with Lorde producer Joel Little who produced Evergreen and is serving as executive producer on Conscious, producing several of the album's tracks.

"We're very conscious on what we want to achieve with this album. We're very conscious of what we want to do and what kind of impact we want to make. At the end of the day, it's important to have a say over every aspect of your art," Georgia said.

Free, the first single from the new album, was released two weeks ago and has already been streamed more than two million times on Spotify.

"This album is a punch in the face compared to the last one. Evergreen was very subtle and airy, Conscious really goes for the throat," Caleb said.

Broods have just wrapped up a series of dates in the US supporting Ellie Goulding on an arena tour.

Their Australian run will kick off in July.

Broods Australian Tour Dates:

July 8 - The Tivoli, Brisbane

July 9 - Enmore Theatre, Sydney

July 11 - The Forum, Melbourne

*Conscious will be released on June 24.
