Brumbies mulling new-look Super lineup

Joe Powell is in the box seat to take over at halfback for the Brumbies as new faces vie to fill the vacuum left by the departure of a slew of experienced players from their Super Rugby squad.

With Argentine international halfback Tomas Cubelli set to miss the majority of the season through injury, Powell looks likely to shade Ryan Lonergan and new signing Dewet Roos for the No.9 jersey in the Brumbies' season opener against the Crusaders in Christchurch on Saturday night.

Coach Stephen Larkham said former Force flanker Chris Alcock and Jarrad Butler were among four players who could slot into the back row in the absence of David Pocock.
