Fire crews and police are still on the scene of a fire at Clearpoint House in Auckland's CBD.

Emergency services were called to the seven-storey Clearpoint House in Fanshawe Street at about 11am on Friday as smoke billowed from air conditioning ducts.

Office staff were evacuated.

Police and fire staff are satisfied the fire was caused by an electrical fault, according to acting senior sergeant Kuhrt Wieneke.

Fire crews are still on the scene while the exterior facade of the building is secured, and police are assisting with traffic in the area.
