The Brisbane Bullets have parted ways with import Jermaine Beal with the NBL club declaring he had failed to deliver.

The Bullets made the announcement just hours ahead of their game with Melbourne United on Saturday.

The American-born guard and former NBL finals MVP failed to live up to the hype since arriving from Perth at the start of the 2016-17 season.

Beal averaged 11.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in his 23 appearances for the Bullets.

His season hit a low ebb when he produced a zero-point, zero-assist effort in Thursday's loss to Adelaide which dropped the Bullets to last at 23-9.

"We have not been able to get the best out of Jermaine, and he has not been contributing to the level that he wants to and it has become frustrating for both parties," coach Andrej Lemanis said.

"We have decided that it is best for the team to let Jermaine leave and to focus on the rest of the group for the remainder of the season.

"We believe this decision gives us the best opportunity to continue to compete and win games this season."

Development player Tom Fullarton was promoted to the Bullets' roster following Beal's departure.
