Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds is getting candid about his love life.

The 79-year-old movie star recently opened up about former girlfriend Sally Fields, telling Vanity Fair that she was the "love of my life."

"I miss her terribly," Reynolds told the magazine. "Even now, it’s hard on me. I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up."

But there's one person Reynolds isn't missing at all -- his ex-wife Loni Anderson. Anderson and the actor went through a famously messy divorce in the early '90s, accusing each other of infidelity and physical brutality, according to TMZ.

The actor recently sat down with People magazine to talk about his tumultuous relationship with Anderson.

"I should have known that you don't marry an actress," said Reynolds to People. "That was a really dumb move on my part."

Reynolds, who was recently ordered by a judge to pay the actress around $154,500 from their divorce, alluded to money being a factor in the couple's breakup.

"She bought everything in triplicate, from everyday dresses to jewelry to china and linens," said the actor to People. "I gave her a platinum American Express card with a $45,000 credit limit. She maxed it out in half an hour."

Maybe if he'd shaved off that handsome 'stache, she wouldn't have been so attracted to the actor in the first place.
