Cahill sticks with Widnes

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 4/08/2016

Widnes have confirmed that New Zealander Hep Cahill has activated an option in his contract to stay with the club for a sixth season in 2017.

The 29-year-old former Melbourne Storm loose forward has been a regular for the Vikings since joining them from the Crusaders in 2012 and coach Denis Betts believes his best is yet to come.

"It is fantastic for the club to have Hep here," Betts said. "He has been with us since we entered Super League and is a real stalwart. He grows in stature each year.

"He is a great team player, with a fantastic work ethic and he leaves nothing in the tank. I think Hep has even more to offer and he is always keen to improve his game."
