Scotland-born Christie replaced All Blacks halfback Tawera Kerr-Barlow, stood down at halftime for concussion, in the match won 16-7 by the Chiefs..

Christie, 22, was cited for stamping an opponent as he tried to clear the ball from a ruck two minutes into the second spell.

The citing commissioner has decided on review that the trampling incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.

Super Rugby governing body Sanzaar's foul play review committee will consider the case via video conference late on Sunday (NZT).
