Christoph Waltz is reportedly being investigated for keeping a six-figure euro sum in tax payments in an offshore account.

Two-time Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz is being investigated by German prosecutors on suspicion of tax fraud.

Waltz, an Austrian-German actor best known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino films, is suspected of avoiding a six-figure euro sum in tax payments by keeping money in an offshore account, mass circulation tabloid Bild reportS.

The information was discovered on a leaked data set acquired by the Finance Ministry in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and subsequently passed on to prosecutors in Berlin, where Waltz has a residence.

Waltz's representatives and the Berlin prosecutor's office declined to comment on the proceedings.

The 59-year-old actor, whose main residence is in Los Angeles, won Oscars for his roles in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2010) and Django Unchained (2013).
