In-form New Zealand squash player Paul Coll has toppled another higher-ranked opponent to reach the semi-finals of a leading international tournament in London.

World No.16 Coll accounted for 15th-ranked Englishman Daryl Selby 11-7 11-3 12-10 in just under an hour at the Canary Wharf Classic.

The relatively quick match was in contrast to Coll's opening-round marathon, in which it took two hours to see off ninth-ranked German Simon Rosner in five sets.

Coll's form shows no signs of wavering, having soared up the world rankings over the last year from a spot outside the top-50.

His biggest win came last month over reigning world champion and second-ranked Karim Abdel Gawad of Egypt at a tournament in Toronto.

His semi-final opponent on Friday (NZT) will be either world No.4 Nick Matthew of England or 18th-ranked Australian Cameron Pilley.
