New Zealand will make a commitment to act against base erosion and profit shifting during a visit by Revenue Minister Judith Collins to Europe.

During her trip this week she'll sign an agreement in Paris to enter New Zealand into the OECD's effort.

"This OECD measure works to prevent abuse of tax treaties by amending a worldwide network of several thousand bilateral tax treaties," she said.

Ms Collins will also visit Norway for meetings with that nation's Finance Minister and State Secretary of Petroleum and Energy.

She'll also meet with local oil, gas and renewable energy industry leaders in both France and Norway.

Ms Collins said while France had a growing number of innovative energy projects she also wanted to learn more about Norway's environmental protections and energy regulations.
