Hamilton's council has decided to give another $80,000 to the children of a zoo keeper mauled to death by a tiger after being fined earlier in the month.

Samantha Kudeweh, 43, was attacked when she entered the tiger's enclosure at Hamilton Zoo in September last year.

The Hamilton City Council on Friday announced it would be putting another $80,000 into a trust for Ms Kudeweh's children, Billy and Sage.

It said the matter had been discussed at the council's final full meeting and wouldn't comment further.

Earlier this month, it was also fined more than $48,600 for failing to meet WorkSafe standards at the zoo in relation to the death.

The council earlier paid the family $116,000 and has unveiled a memorial to Ms Kudeweh.
