NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 19/06/2016

A man sought in connection with the shooting of a boy in Hamilton is due to appear in court.

Mongrel Mob member Teina Williams, 25, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday in Hamilton, police say.

He will appear in Hamilton District Court on Monday.

He was sought as part of an investigation into an incident in Norrie Street on Thursday, during which a boy was shot in the arm.

The previous Saturday a man was also shot in the thigh in Norrie Street.

Police initially said they were not drawing any links to the earlier shooting but later said they were investigating possible connections.

In March last year, 29-year-old Michael Thompson was fatally shot in Norrie Street and teen Tyson-Tainui Te Tomo, also with the Mongrel Mob, was jailed for his murder.
