NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 8/04/2017

A man used a "long sharp" weapon to threaten a worker in a Gisborne dairy.

The man walked into the Huxley Road Dairy about 6.15am on Saturday and left with items after threatening the shop worker.

The worker chased the man from the shop and was not injured.

The man had covered his face and was wearing dark clothing. He was last seen by witnesses in the Daphne St area.

Police are appealing for any information and would like to speak to anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously around the dairy just after 6am.
