A man considered dangerous has become the latest person to allegedly cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet and go on the run.

Police are hunting 20-year-old Titia Apaipo from Cannons Creek, Porirua, who is wanted for breaching bail.

Police have recovered his electronic monitoring bracelet, which they said he had removed.

"Apaipo, who has links to Auckland, is considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public," police said in a statement.

Apaipo was described as a Pacific Islander, 179cm tall and of medium build.

He is the latest in a raft of cases where people subject to electronic monitoring have removed their bracelets.

The government has promised better bracelets will be rolled out this year.
