New Zealand's Marcus Daniell has a shot at a fourth career ATP doubles title after reaching the final at a clay court tournament in Lyon.

Days out from the start of the French Open, Daniell showed he is in sharp form after he and Brazilian partner Marcelo Demoliner snared a notable scalp in the semi-finals on Thursday.

They took 46 minutes to beat Australians Nick Kyrgios and Matt Reid 6-3 6-1.

World No.19 Kyrgios was in need of time on clay after having limited preparation for the looming grand slam tournament at Roland Garros.

The second semi-final will be played on Friday, pitting third seeds Oliver Marach (Austria) and Mate Pavic (Croatia) against Andres Molteni (Argentina) and Adil Shamasdin (Canada).

Daniell's three previous titles have come on grass or hardcourt surfaces, with two of them achieved alongside compatriot Artek Sitak.
