Danny Lee maintains solid form in Texas

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 29/05/2016

New Zealand's Danny Lee edged up two places on the final day of a PGA Tour event in Texas to finish 22nd.

Three successive bogeys from the 12th hole prevented Lee finishing higher at the Dean and Deluca Invitational at Fort Worth which was won by world No.2 Jordan Spieth on 17-under.

The American was three strokes clear of the field and 13 ahead of Lee, who closed with a fluctuating one-under 69.

The highlight of the Kiwi's round was an eagle on the par-four second hole, when he pitched in from 91 yards.

It continues a solid series of results for Lee, who is projected to climb seven spots to 51st on the Tour's money list.

Compatriot Tim Wilkinson finished in style, the left-hander shooting a 65 to climb 22 places for a share of 47th on one-over.

Wilkinson sunk seven birdies, showing glimpses of the form which carried him to a fourth-place finish at last week's tournament in nearby Irving.
