A vet is assessing the health of the stock that survived, but a police spokeswoman said more may need to be euthanised.

The truck rolled on State Highway 23 around 7am on Monday.

The road will be closed between Raglan and Whatawhata until the scene has been cleared and the animals have been checked.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
