New Zealand's three men's doubles hopefuls have drawn unseeded opposition in the first round of the French Open in Paris.

Well-performed duo Michael Venus and his Croatian partner Mate Pavic will meet familiar United States pairing Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky, who they beat in the final of Auckland's ASB Classic in January.

Artem Sitak is teaming with American partner Nicholas Monroe at Roland Garros. They have drawn Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili and Argentine Diego Schwartzman.

Sitak normally partners fellow-Kiwi Marcus Daniell but the pair had to split for the clay court grand slam as their combined ranking wasn't high enough to qualify.

Marcus Daniell and American partner Brian Baker will face Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis and Russian Dimitri Tursinov.

New Zealand doesn't have a player in the singles main draw after women's No.1 Marina Erakovic was eliminated in the first round of qualifying.
