Dixon off pace at IndyCar practice

NZN 25/06/2016

Kiwi IndyCar driver Scott Dixon says he's got some ground to make up after an indifferent practice session leading into the Kohler Grand Prix at Road America in Wisconsin.

Graham Rahal set the fastest time around the 4.014-mile circuit of one minute 43.0224 seconds, with Dixon's 1min 43.8423sec well off the pace in 10th place over the two practice sessions.

"Average day. Some work to do," Dixon tweeted afterwards on Saturday (NZT).

Series defending champion Dixon is looking to make ground on current IndyCar series leader Simon Pagenaud, who holds a commanding 80-point lead over second-placed Dixon after eight of the competition's 16 rounds.
