New Zealander Scott Dixon has qualified fourth fastest at the IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama, with Australian Will Power claiming pole position.

Team Penske filled all three top positions, Helio Castroneves and defending champion Simon Pagenaud completing the clean sweep.

Power will lead the field to start the 90-lap race on Monday (NZT) after posting the fastest lap of the Firestone Fast Six, the last of three rounds of knockout qualifying.

Power clocked one minute 6.9614 seconds to earn pole position, with Dixon timed at 01:07.5817.

Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing Honda) has finished on the podium in six of the previous seven races at Barber Motorsports Park, but has yet to win.

"The car's been really strong from the start of the season," he said.

"This weekend, we struggled with just keeping up with the car. It's been tough in the conditions out here, but I think that was kind of the best we could hope for in qualifying."
