Jurors in the trial of a group accused of kidnapping and attacking a young woman found near death on a highway north of Auckland are set to begin deliberating.

Nicola Jones and Julie-Ann Torrance are standing trial in the High Court at Auckland, accused of attempting to murder the then 19-year-old left in the Dome Valley in May last year.

The jurors have now retired and are due to begin deliberations proper on Monday morning.

Along with Michelle Blom, the women are also accused of kidnapping the complainant off Auckland's Karangahape Road and sexually violating her in a near by basement, before driving her north.

Co-accused Wayne Blackett admitted to attempted murder at the start of the trial and the Crown says Jones and Torrance laughed and egged him on as he tried to snap the young woman's neck.
