Dortmund set to bench Marco Reus

As good as he is Dortmund will not be risking Marco Reus by rushing him into a second consecutive start this weekend.

Germany forward Marco Reus made a sensational return to the Borussia Dortmund side in the Champions League midweek but will find himself on the bench for Saturday's Bundesliga trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

"That would be a bit much, after six months out, to start immediately with a double-header," coach Thomas Tuchel said Friday.

"He's an option for some minutes from the bench."

Reus scored twice and was involved with other goals as Dortmund humbled Legia Warsaw 8-4 on Tuesday but after half a year out, mainly with groin problems, Tuchel is anxious not to rush him.

"You don't have to be a sports scientist to know that two lots of 90 minutes would be a big risk after such a long break," he said.

Dortmund are currently third in the table but level on 21 points with seventh-placed Eintracht.

"Frankfurt have made an unbelievably good development," Tuchel said. "We have to be extremely concentrated because they hardly allow any chances."

Only long-term absentees Sven Bender and Neven Subotic are unavailable for Dortmund in the game with midfielder Raphael Guerreiro fit once more.
