Their coaches are still to be unveiled but New Zealand's sevens rugby teams have learned the identity of their first-up opponents on the world series.

The All Blacks Sevens will face Russia, Samoa and England in the opening round in Dubai on December 2-3.

It will be their first tournament since finishing fifth in a disastrous Rio Olympics campaign in August.

Coach of 23 years, Sir Gordon Tietjens, stepped down from the role a month ago but his successor is still to be announced.

Likewise, the New Zealand women's team is still to replace Sean Horan, who stood aside following their silver medal-winning performance in Rio.

The women's draw in Dubai on December 1-2 pits them against Ireland, Fiji and France.

Final interviews for both roles were reportedly to take place this week.

Horan and former New Zealand sevens representative Scott Waldrom are considered among the front-runners to win the men's post.
