Marina Erakovic bowed out in the second round of qualifying for the latest WTA tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, losing 6-4 6-0 to 170th-ranked American Jamie Loeb.

World No.108 Erakovic's failure to reach the main draw will come as a blow.

The 28-year-old has lined up in the main draw only eight times since reaching the last-32 of Wimbledon in June.

At those tournaments, she advanced to second round just twice, at second-tier events late last year, including a run to the semi-finals in Chinese Taipei.

She has been unlucky this year, drawing seeded opponents in the first round of the ASB Classic in Auckland, the Australian Open and her most recent event, the Taiwan Open a month ago.
