New Zealand number one Marina Erakovic is one step away from Wimbledon tennis after wrapping up a place in the final round of singles qualifying.

Erakovic coasted through her second-round qualifier against Poland's Urszula Radwanska, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

The 28-year-old, ranked 149 in the world, will now play Russian Irina Khromacheva for a place in the Wimbledon main draw.

A victory against Khromacheva would qualify the Kiwi for her eighth tilt at the UK grand slam tournament.

Meanwhile, men's doubles pair Michael Venus and Mate Pavic will be 16th seed at Wimbledon.

Venus is the first Kiwi male to be seeded in the doubles competition since 1998.
