Hardline conservative radio host and pundit Glenn Beck on Sunday became the latest public figure to compare Republican front-runner Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

"We all look at Adolf Hitler in 1940. We should look at Adolf Hitler in 1929," Beck told ABC’s "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos as he drew the parallel between the GOP candidate and the one-time leader of the Nazi Party. "He was a kind of a funny kind of a character who said the things that people are thinking."

"Where Donald Trump takes it, I have absolutely no idea," he added "But Donald Trump is a dangerous man with the things that he has been saying."

Beck, who famously quit the GOP last year, explained how conservatives alienated by the party have become smitten with Trump -- someone he said plays to "the lowest common denominator."

"The GOP has one last chance to listen to the people. ... They have created Donald Trump," Beck said.

Stephanopoulus noted that Beck is in the "'Never Trump' camp" of establishment conservatives who have vowed to not support Trump -- even if he becomes the Republican nominee.

Beck theorized that party leaders are more afraid of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz than they are of Trump, and that he refuses to vote for the latter.

He added that if Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton are up against each other in the general election, he won't vote for either candidate because he doesn't consider Clinton to be "the lesser of two evils."

"I'm not going to vote for evil," he said.

Editor's note: Donald Trump is a serial liarrampant xenophoberacistmisogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
