Fab May Suffer Yet Another Round Of Layoffs

We’ve heard that design-focused e-commerce site Fab is planning another round of layoffs. At an internal meeting today, sources tell us that the company said it would be making a decision on the final number of people to be let go by June 1. One rumor floating around is that the company could reduce headcount by another 60 employees. Fab currently has 305 employees worldwide.

The company has had a difficult 12 months as it has struggled to find its place and profitability in the e-commerce world. Over the past few months, Fab has of COO Beth Ferreira and co-founder and design chief Bradford Shellhammer among many others.

Fab, which has raised more than $330 million in venture capital, was valued at $1 billion last year, seemed to expand too soon, too quickly.

The company has had to close offices around the world, as it continues to focus on achieving profitability. Last fall, it  and suffered of . It’s unclear what Jason Goldberg’s next step is — for now he’s still the CEO of Fab, and it appears there are no immediate changes on that front.

A spokesperson for Fab declined to comment.
