Faumuina avoids French connection question

All Blacks prop Charlie Faumuina has done nothing to dampen speculation he has signed to play in France from next year.

French media reports this month said the 29-year-old tighthead had inked a three-year contract with powerhouses Toulouse, beginning after the British and Irish Lions tour in 2017.

Asked about the reports for the first time on Thursday, Faumuina deflected his answer to Saturday's third Test against Wales in Dunedin, where he will make a rare start.

"I'm just looking forward to this series, this opportunity this weekend and I'm sure the future will take care of itself when that comes around," he said.

Faumuina was linked in 2014 with French club Racing 92 but he was happy to dismiss those reports at the time and went on to sign a three-year extension with NZ Rugby.

The mobile Blues prop has played 35 Tests since 2012, including 10 starts.
