First female president for Fed Farmers

After 118 years of operation, Federated Farmers has elected its first female national president.

West Coast dairy farmer Katie Milne has become the first woman in the Federation's 118-year history to hold the presidency.

Current president Dr William Rolleston is stepping down after three years.

Ms Milne has been a board member and the West Coast Provincial President, as well as winning Dairy Woman of the Year and a Rural Woman of Influence in 2015.

Manawatu dairy farmer Andrew Hoggard has been elected National Vice President.
