The is yet another smartphone out of the Microsoft camp looking to pull you away from either iOS or Android.

Where specs and features are concerned, it’s prepared to deliver.

The phone has a 5-inch 1080p display, a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 20-megapixel PureView camera, and Qi wireless charging.

And though it’s , Verizon is offering it for about half the cost ($199) on a two-year contract.

But is that enough?

John and I took a look at the phone and came away surprisingly pleased. Not only is it quick and powerful, but it has a beautiful, sturdy design that will make you feel proud to have it in your pocket.

Still, we’re not convinced that Windows Phone as an OS can compete with iOS or Android. Perhaps Cortana will change all that?
