Fox battles again on European Tour

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 8/05/2016

Ryan Fox's struggles on the European Tour have continued with a lowly finish at the latest stop in Morocco.

New Zealand No.2 Fox scraped under the cut but failed to make any headway over the weekend at the Trophee Hassan II tournament in Rabat, finishing 63rd on 11-over.

Double-bogeys on the first and eighth holes were low points of a closing three-over 75 as he conceded 16 shots to Korean winner Jeunghun Wang.

Fox hasn't matched his 2015 form since injuring an ankle in January which sidelined him for a month.

He has made the three cuts in six European Tour appearances but finished outside the top-50 on each occasion, resulting in a plunge of more than 50 spots on the world ranking list to 179th.

Last year Fox won twice on the second-tier Challenge Tour and qualified for the British Open.
