Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox has burst into a four-stroke lead at the latest European secondary tour event in China.

Fox sizzled in the second round of the Foshan Open, shooting a seven-under 65 to climb from a share of third to a comfortable lead at the midway point.

Starting on the back nine, he shot 10 birdies, including five in succession from holes four to eight.

His only win this year came at the Northern Ireland Open in July, soon before representing New Zealand at the Rio Olympics.

Fox was fourth on the Challenger Tour's money list before this week, leaving him almost certain to secure a place on next year's full European Tour.
