Ryan Fox will want his compelling start to the Australian PGA Championship to continue on day three on the Gold Coast.

Kiwi No.2 Fox shares third place with Australian Adam Scott on eight-under at the midway point, having followed his opening 67 with 69.

The pair are four strokes behind Andrew Dodt while another Australia, Ashley Hall, holds second on 10-under.

Fox carded six birdies, including successive shots gained on holes one to four, to maintain a strong start to his first tournament as a fully-fledged player on the European Tour.

Compatriot Danny Lee is 21st on two-under after the US PGA Tour golfer carded a 73 at the Royal Pines Resort.

The seven other Kiwis in the field missed the cut, with Michael Hendry, Martin Pettigrew and Harry Bateman all one shot short of advancing.
