Billy Matara, 36, was arrested after 35-year-old Hemi Hingaia was left critically injured after being shot in Yates Rd, Mangere in May.

Matara appeared in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday, where he was remanded in custody until a trial in May and he will appear again in February.
