Geary finding form in Brazil

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 3/04/2016

Three years since playing in his last Tour event, New Zealand golfer Josh Geary has felt right at home this week at the Brasil Champions in Sao Paulo.

Geary turned in his third consecutive round in the 60s at Sao Paulo Golf Club, carding a six-under 65 to take a share of 10th place into the final round in the fourth event of the Tour season.

Geary, who finished second on the Order of Merit in China a year ago, is tied with American Jason Millard and Mexico's Oscar Fraustro, six shots behind leader Andrew Svoboda (US).

Geary's 65 combined typical solid putting with what he called his best ball-striking round of the week.

"I played really solid. It's probably the best I hit it all week - I hit a lot more fairways and a lot more greens," he said.

Geary played bogey-free Saturday while making an equal number of birdies - three on each nine.

"The last three or four days I've been sort of pecking away at a few little things that haven't quite been there, and I think today it just started to click in a little more."
