The 28-year-old Gillett, who has played representative rugby league for Queensland and Australia, is out of contract with Brisbane at the end of 2016.

He told Fox Sports News on Wednesday he could be heading to Auckland next year despite playing his entire career to date with the Broncos.

"In between," Gillett said when asked if a move to New Zealand was likely or unlikely.

"I hope I can stay here and things work out that way, but if not it's going to move on."

The Warriors are yet to make a high-profile signing for 2017 but are thought to be a possible destination for the out-of-sorts Kieran Foran.
