England head coach Eddie Jones has recruited the coaching services of his fellow Australian Glen Ella for next month's three-Test tour Down Under.

England Rugby announced Ella, a former club colleague of Jones' at Randwick, will be on board for games against Australia in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

He will work as a skills specialist, with responsibility for developing England's attacking play, in addition to providing backs skills coaching.

Ella won four caps for Australia as a full-back between 1982 and 1985, while he was Wallabies assistant coach for the 1995 and 2003 World Cup campaigns under Bob Dwyer and Jones, respectively.

Jones said: "We are very happy that Glen will be joining up with us out in Australia.

"Glen has coached rugby all around the world, and not only brings with him a wealth of experience, but also has one of the best attacking minds in the business.

"Working alongside myself and the rest of the coaching team, Glen will assist me in developing our attack play strategies and also provide some specialist backs skills coaching.

"It's an area we know we need to improve, and I am sure we will benefit greatly from having Glen on board for the tour."

Ella added: "I am delighted to be teaming up with Eddie again and working alongside the rest of the coaching staff.

"Eddie's got England moving in the right direction, but there's still a lot of work to be done, particularly in attack. I am looking forward to being involved in an exciting series of Test rugby."

Jones is set to name his tour squad in a fortnight's time, with England heading to Australia on the back of a Six Nations title success and their first Grand Slam for 13 years.
