Glory coach Kenny Lowe gets two-game ban

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 24/10/2016

Perth coach Kenny Lowe will have to watch the Glory's next two A-League fixtures from the stands after receiving a two-game ban from the independent match review panel.

Lowe was involved in a heated discussion with referee Alan Milliner during the halftime break of Glory's match against Melbourne City on Friday night.

City had just equalised through a penalty with a number of Glory players noticeably unhappy with the decision.

While Lowe claimed to be the peacemaker in the incident, saying he only went on to the pitch to get his players from the field, the MRP didn't see it that way.

Sent up into the stands for the second half of the clash - won by the Glory 3-2, Lowe will have to cool his heels in the bleachers for another two weeks as well.

The MRP determined that Lowe committed the offence of 'Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures towards a match official' and as well as the mandatory match suspension received another game ban on top.

Lowe has until lunchtime on Tuesday to appeal.
