Guilty plea for murder of Auckland woman Cun Xiu Tian

Family members found Cun Xiu Tian dead in her Te Atatu house in January 2016.

Jaden Lee Stroobant, 19, also from Te Atatu, faced one charge of murder and two of sexual violation.

He pleaded guilty to the charges this morning in the High Court in Auckland, where he was due to go on trial.

Police said a post-mortem examination found Ms Tian endured a brutal, prolonged assault.

Ms Tian and her family moved from China two decades ago and had lived in Te Atatu for 15 years.
