Hamilton police seek robbery information

Hamilton police are appealing for information about an aggravated robbery eight days ago, when a man was approached by a group and assaulted.

The man was walking on Anglesea Street near the Ward Street intersection around 2.35am on March 19 when he was met by 10 to 15 young people.

Two in the group - one wearing a blue shirt with a white number 22 on it, and one wearing a black shirt - punched the man in the head and face.

The man tried to run away but fell over and was further assaulted by several members of the group, who punched and kicked him while he was on the ground.

He then had his wallet stolen before the group fled the scene.

Police say the want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or is able to identify the offenders or others in the group.
