They have revealed a few more details about , whose death is being treated as suspicious.

The 29-year-old father-of-two had been camping with his partner near Pine Beach, on the eastern side of the river, and was last seen on Christmas Day before his body was discovered downstream by a kayaker on Tuesday.

He was found in the river wearing only black boxer shorts and black socks.

"The family of Tama Retimana are wanting answers in relation to their loved one," Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said in a statement where they also asked for the public to let them know what happened.

Police are trying to retrace Mr Retimana's final movements and said his partner was helping with their inquiries.
