Crusaders back David Havili has been cited for alleged foul play in his side's 26-21 Super Rugby win over the Blues in Auckland.

Havili, who came off the bench at Eden Park, has been charged with punching or striking in an incident involving Blues second five-eighth Piers Francis in the 66th minute.

On review of footage, the citing commissioner deemed the alleged offence, making contact with a swinging arm to Francis's neck, as worthy of a red card.

Another Crusaders player, second-five Ryan Crotty, has been issued with a warning for a high tackle on opposition first-five Ihaia West late in the match on Saturday night.

Match officials took no action at the time, but the citing commissioner deemed that a warning was appropriate as the tackle was close to, but did not meet the red card threshold for a citing.
