Coach Sue Hawkins has resigned from her role with national netball premiership strugglers the Tactix.

The Christchurch-based Tactix sit bottom of the new competition, having lost all five of their matches so far.

"Moving forward as a professional coach, there is a time when you have to step aside in the interest of the team," she said on Monday.

Assistant coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek will take over the top job for the remainder of the season.

Netball Mainland chief executive Brigit Hearn says a recruitment process will be undertaken after the season ends.
