A young Irish bride-to-be was buried in her wedding dress months before her special day.

The funeral of Lindsey Sharon Coulter took place at St John’s Church in Fivemiletown - the same church where she was planning to get married in October.

The 27-year-old community nurse - described by friends as someone who was always happy and laughing - is understood to have collapsed while exercising at a gym last Friday, Belfast Live reports.

Desperate efforts were made to try and save Lindsey but tragically she passed away.

The gym paid tribute to Lindsey, who was originally from Fivemiletown: “It is with deep sadness that one of our members Lindsey Coulter has passed away suddenly.

"Everyone at Colebrooke Fitness would like to offer their deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Lindsey was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.”

Lindsey was a former pupil of Fivemiletown College and studied nursing at the University of Dundee.

Ulster Unionist councillor Victor Warrington told the Fermanagh Herald: “This is a terrible tragedy and everyone, particularly young people are stunned.

"It’s devastating news for the Coulters and Ellisons, two well-known and respected families in this area.

“Lindsey was always very bubbly and friendly. She is being remembered this week as someone who was always happy and laughing. It’s terribly sad to see another young life being cut short particularly when she had a whole bright future ahead of her.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire community will be with the family and friends of Lindsey at this difficult time."
